Google has officially introduced its flagship Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, touting them as the most durable devices in the company’s smartphone history. Both flagships feature a spacecraft-grade aluminium frame paired with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 display protection, treated with a specialized coating that delivers twice the scratch resistance of previous generations. Powering the phones is Google’s custom Tensor G6 processor, which improves CPU power efficiency by 20 percent over the Tensor G5 while running demanding on-device AI tasks, such as live translations, with minimal latency.

A major visual update comes via the redesigned, edge-to-edge glass camera bar, which now integrates an ambient LED lighting array called HiLight. Operating similarly to Nothing’s Glyph interface, HiLight delivers visual alerts even when the phone is placed face-down with the Flip to Shhh feature enabled. Users can configure customized LED colours for priority contacts across standard phone calls and WhatsApp, ensuring important alerts break through Do Not Disturb mode. HiLight also pulses dynamically to signal when the Gemini AI assistant is listening, thinking, or responding.
The camera hardware receives substantial improvements across all three rear sensors. The primary 50-megapixel wide camera utilizes a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor to capture finer detail, flanked by a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens with autofocus and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom while letting in 32 percent more light. Through Google’s Pro Zoom AI feature, the camera computationally reconstructs image details up to 120x digital zoom. The rear camera system supports 8K video capture at 24 or 30 frames per second, while a 48-megapixel front-facing camera captures 4K selfie video.

Display performance sees an upgrade beneath the Victus 2 cover glass. Base configurations feature 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, a slight step down from the Pixel 10 Pro’s 16GB baseline, with 512GB and 1TB capacity tiers also available. Google bundles both phones with six months of Google AI Pro, offering access to advanced Gemini models and 2TB of cloud storage.
