While the series wrapped its initial three-season arc in 2023 with a sense of finality, the “Greyhounds” are back with a twist. Ted and Coach Beard have returned to Richmond, but instead of the Premier League, they are tasked with reviving the club’s women’s team as it currently struggles in the second division.

Apple moved quickly to secure its breakout stars for this new chapter. Returning cast members include:

  • Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso)
  • Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard)
  • Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton)
  • Juno Temple (Keeley Jones)
  • Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent)
  • Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins)

With the focus shifting to the women’s squad, the roster is expanding. New additions include Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education) and Faye Marsay (Andor). Notably, the teaser trailer features a heavy presence from comedy legend Tracey Ullman, despite her curious absence from the official press release credits.

There is a significant shift behind the scenes as original showrunner Bill Lawrence balances a string of other successful projects. Taking the reins as executive producer is Jack Burditt. While his credit as the creator of Last Man Standing might surprise some fans, his pedigree in elite comedy, including work on Frasier, 30 Rock, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, suggests the show’s signature wit and heart are in capable hands.
