Following its initial debut on Samsung’s latest foldable lineup, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, and Z Flip 8, the manufacturer is officially expanding its One UI 9 software update to slate-style smartphones. The software rollout begins today for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, while also extending to the newly released Galaxy S26 FE.

One UI 9 integrates several new artificial intelligence tools designed to streamline content creation and daily workflows:
- My FanCam: Automatically isolates and crops wide-angle video recordings to keep a specific subject centred within the frame, allowing users to extract focused clips in custom aspect ratios from multi-subject footage.
- Now Brief & Now Nudge: Upgrades daily executive summaries with editable, generative information cards. Meanwhile, contextual algorithms pull data across the Galaxy hardware ecosystem to deliver proactive suggestions, such as auto-populating reservation confirmation details directly into messaging applications.
Communication and record-keeping features receive targeted efficiency upgrades:
- Interpreter Thread View: Introduces a chat-style interface that allows users to review previous dialogue history during real-time translated conversations, supported by faster overall processing speeds in Conversation Mode.
- Voice Recorder Summaries: Automatically parses recorded audio transcriptions into structured, scannable summaries utilizing formatted section headers and data tables.
- Document Scan Improvements: Enhances optical image processing to automatically flatten curved book spines and correct folded page margins without requiring manual warping adjustments.
