Nothing debuts 9 Headphone 1 Pro featuring monitoring controls

Consumer technology company Nothing has expanded its audio portfolio with the release of the Headphone 1 Pro, marking the brand’s flagship entry into the professional over-ear market. Positioned above the $199 Headphone A series, the $399 wireless headset introduces dedicated hardware-level studio monitoring utilities alongside high-resolution wireless streaming capabilities and the company’s signature translucent design language.

The Headphone 1 Pro launches in black and white colourways, paired with a glossy hard-shell travel case that encloses the ear cups while leaving the headband exposed as an integrated carrying handle. The physical chassis continues Nothing’s retro-futuristic, late-1990s industrial design language.

A primary technical highlight is a physical hardware toggle switch located on the ear cup that immediately cuts off all active equalizers and spatial audio processing. Developed in direct collaboration with London-based mastering facility Metropolis Studios, this flat-response mode enables engineers and content creators to listen to uncoloured, studio-accurate sound feeds directly from the hardware. This neutral approach directly counters prevailing consumer audio trends that prioritize automated software equalizers and artificial spatial enhancement algorithms.

Internal acoustic architecture utilizes a specialized triple-driver system, allocating individual drivers to bass, vocal, and high-frequency instrumental ranges. The headset supports high-resolution wireless codecs, including LDAC, 24-bit high-resolution audio, and lossless wireless connections, alongside Bluetooth Auracast integration, which enables the device to function as both an audio transmitter and receiver through the companion mobile app.

Active noise cancellation relies on an internal 10-microphone array engineered to isolate and neutralize environmental noise, reinforced by a silicone baffle wall designed to create a physical acoustic barrier around the ear cups. The chassis carries an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance. Ergonomic updates include a 10 percent wider headband to distribute clamping pressure more evenly, paired with memory foam ear cushions that are 50 percent softer and contoured to accommodate users wearing glasses. Battery endurance reaches up to 32 hours of continuous playback with active noise cancellation enabled, extending to 68 hours with ANC turned off.

The Nothing Headphone 1 Pro is available immediately through Nothing’s official online store, Amazon, and Best Buy retail locations. Coinciding with the commercial rollout, Nothing announced V from South Korean pop group BTS as a new global brand ambassador, joining artist Charli XCX in marketing the company’s expanding consumer hardware ecosystem.
