Honor has officially opened pre-orders in China for its unique Honor Robot Phone, a flagship device built around an automated, motorized pop-up camera gimbal. Engineered to bring professional-grade cinematic motion to mobile videography, the smartphone combines physical robotics, advanced AI tracking, and high-end hardware.

The phone’s headline feature is a multi-axis motorized gimbal crafted from lightweight titanium:
- Cinematic Movement: Supports full 360-degree rotation alongside specialized motion modes, including tilt-lock, FPV view, and spinshots.
- AI Subject Tracking & Gesture Control: Integrated algorithms automatically pan and tilt the camera to keep subjects centered, while hands-free gesture recognition allows users to deploy the mechanical arm and trigger shots remotely.
- Dual 200MP Camera Array: Combines a 200MP primary sensor with a 200MP telephoto camera.
- Arri Partnership: Co-developed with professional cinema camera manufacturer Arri, the imaging pipeline features AI-driven noise reduction, expanded dynamic range, real-time previews, and uncompressed RAW output support.
Running on MagicOS, the device introduces YOYO Robot Mode, which adds an anthropomorphic layer to the hardware by integrating contextual understanding, multimodal perception, and physical motion. The robotic camera arm can perform expressive movements, such as nodding in agreement, rotating on command, or dancing along to playing music. Honor is opening the underlying platform to third-party developers, allowing creators to build custom software that leverages the gimbal’s physical movement and perception tools.
