Fatal shooting at post-prom gathering leaves 1 dead, 3 injured in Indianapolis


One person was killed and three others injured in Indianapolis, Indiana Sunday morning following a shooting at post-prom party, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of North Park Avenue, near North College Avenue and 38th Street, at around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, police found one victim suffering from gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police subsequently responded to Methodist Hospital after receiving a report that two additional people had walked in with gunshot wounds. Investigators believe those injuries were also connected to the shooting at the party.

In total, three people were shot. One victim remains in critical condition and another sustained non-critical injuries. A fourth person was hurt while trying to leave the home.

According to 13News, the shooting occurred at a short-term rental home where a large number of teens had gathered for the post-prom house gathering.
