Acer has announced the Vero 16, a sustainability-focused laptop engineered to simplify hardware maintenance, repairs, and component upgrades. The notebook features removable port covers, a detachable external hinge, and a toolless bottom latch mechanism, alongside exterior chassis engravings that clearly mark internal motherboard and battery locations. Constructed from a MIL-STD-810H certified low-carbon aluminium chassis, the Vero 16 equips a user-replaceable battery and SSD, with Acer promising processor upgrade compatibility for at least two future chip generations.

Beyond its modular features, the Vero 16 offers robust internal specifications, configurable with up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 processor 388H, 32GB of RAM, and 512GB of solid-state storage. Visuals are driven by a 16-inch 3K OLED display, supported by a 71Wh battery, a 5MP IR webcam with a physical privacy shutter, an SD card reader, an HDMI 2.1 port, and twin Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. Classified as a Copilot+ PC, the system includes native Windows AI applications such as Windows Studio Effects, Cocreator, and Click to Do. The Vero 16 is scheduled to launch early next year in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with pricing and broader regional availability details to follow.
