Apple expected to unveil HomeView smart display for its new smart home hub

Ahead of its “Welcome Home” press event, reports indicate that Apple will officially introduce its long-rumoured smart home hub, named the HomeView. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the wall- or countertop-mounted display will serve as a central voice and automation command centre for Apple-powered homes.

The HomeView name emphasizes a voice-first interface powered by Siri rather than a tablet-style experience. The hardware will ship in two form factors: a countertop model featuring a metallic speaker base available in Space Gray, Silver, Starlight, and Pink, alongside a wall-mountable version offered in Space Gray and Silver.

Unlike iPad OS hardware, the HomeView will run a stripped-back interface limited to core Apple services, with no direct access to the App Store. Instead, the ecosystem relies heavily on connected third-party hardware managed via Siri and the Apple Home app. To expand its smart home footprint, Apple has partnered with LG to produce doorbells, outdoor security cameras, and smart thermostats, alongside a European collaboration with Schneider Electric SE. These accessories will be marketed under a new “Apple Home Collection” banner.

Alongside the HomeView display, Apple is anticipated to reveal an updated HomePod mini powered by the S10 silicon chip, as well as a next-generation Apple TV set-top box equipped with the A19 processor.

Shipping schedules indicate a staggered hardware rollout. The refreshed HomePod mini and Apple TV set-top boxes are slated to reach retail channels on October 30, while the HomeView hub is expected to follow in mid-November. Third-party smart home hardware under the Apple Home Collection is projected to ship towards the end of the year.
