Foldables: Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and a Potential Ultra Model
The summer Unpacked 2025 is anticipated to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Leaks suggest Gemini Live will be a core part of the foldables’ presentation, indicating a continued emphasis on AI features. While previous AI functionalities received mixed reviews, Samsung appears committed to integrating artificial intelligence.
Renders from Android Headlines purportedly show the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a slimmer profile, a navy-blue chassis, and reportedly larger displays: a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.2-inch inner display. Similar leaks suggest increased screen real estate for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 as well.
Adding to the excitement, a recent Samsung teaser hinted at a Galaxy Z Fold Ultra featuring Galaxy AI. While specific specs are unknown, Samsung claims this model will boast “industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format.” This doesn’t appear to be the rumoured tri-fold design, but a surprise reveal of such a device would certainly be a showstopper.
Wearables and Other Potential Announcements
On the wearables front, anticipation is milder for the Galaxy Watch 8. Samsung’s smartwatches haven’t seen groundbreaking innovation in recent years, with the Galaxy Watch 7 offering only incremental improvements. Fans are hoping for substantial upgrades, with improved battery life being a highly desired feature.
Speculation also suggests a new smartphone announcement could be on the horizon. While Samsung typically unveils its standard mobile hardware at the beginning of the year, credible rumours indicate a new Galaxy S25 FE is in development. Announcing and opening pre-orders at the summer Unpacked would align with a potential fall release for this Fan Edition model. Leaks for the S25 FE suggest minor camera upgrades but potential boosts to performance and battery life if it indeed utilizes the Exynos 2400 processor.
