Infini-fi, a new ISP in South Africa, launches targeting affluent fibre market

Vumatel sister company SADV has expanded its market reach with the launch of Infini-fi, a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) that will offer services over the Vuma Core network. While SADV has primarily focused on the affordable Vuma Reach network, Infini-fi is designed to serve the more affluent neighbourhoods covered by Vuma Core.

SADV, which merged with Vumatel in 2020 (a deal that helped Vumatel become the largest Fibre Network Operator in South Africa), remains a standalone ISP within the Community Investment Ventures Holdings group.

SADV Managing Director Venita Engelbrecht said the new ISP represents the “next evolution,” building on SADV’s success in connecting over 120,000 customers in Vuma Reach areas.

“Infini-fi exists to make that possible by combining accessibility with innovation, ensuring no one is left behind as South Africa moves forward in the digital era,” Engelbrecht stated. She noted that nearly 50% of homes passed in South Africa are still unconnected, emphasizing the need to empower more people to experience “unlimited living through meaningful, reliable, and future-ready connectivity.”

Infini-fi is launching with both month-to-month and contract options (available from one to three years), with longer commitments offering lower subscription pricing.

To celebrate the launch, Infini-fi is offering a cashback promotion of up to R5,000 for the first 250 customers who sign up for contracts on 50Mbps packages and higher. The maximum R5,000 cashback is available on 36-month contracts for 1Gbps packages and will be paid into the customer’s bank account immediately after the first subscription payment is made.

Looking ahead, Engelbrecht revealed that Infini-fi is designed as a scalable platform and will soon expand beyond Vuma Core:

  • Planned Network Launches: “We plan to launch on Openserve, MetroFibre, and Frogfoot at the latest by early 2026,” Engelbrecht confirmed, adding that they are already in advanced discussions with these FNOs.
  • Cancellations: Month-to-month customers can cancel with a calendar month’s notice. Fixed-term contract customers are subject to the same notice period, but may incur early-termination provisions covering the pro-rated value of any benefits received.

Customers can check network availability and sign up on the new Infini-fi website.
