Starting today, Nano Banana Pro is free to try globally within the Gemini app. Users can access the model by selecting “Create image” with the “Thinking” model.

Nano Banana Pro improves upon previous image models with features aimed at professional-grade output and practical application:

  • Flawless Text Rendering: A key advancement is the model’s ability to render legible text directly onto the image, whether it’s a short tagline or a longer paragraph. This feature, which supports various language translations, makes the model ideal for generating posters, invitations, and marketing materials.
  • Context-Rich Visuals: The model excels at creating detailed, context-rich infographics and diagrams, making it useful for visualizing real-time data such as sports scores or weather patterns.
  • Complex Composition: Nano Banana Pro supports blending multiple elements into a single composition, allowing for complex scenes involving up to 14 images and five people.

Beyond generation, Nano Banana Pro offers sophisticated editing capabilities that rival traditional design software:

  • Local Editing: Users can select and edit any specific part of an image locally.
  • Creative Adjustments: The model provides controls for manipulating camera angles, adding the bokeh effect, adjusting focus, applying colour grading, and changing lighting (e.g., converting a scene from day to night).
  • Resolution: It supports resolutions up to 4K across a variety of aspect ratios.

Google is embracing transparency by embedding C2PA metadata into all images created or edited with the Nano Banana Pro model. This metadata is crucial for helping to identify generative AI content or deepfakes in online environments, a measure recently supported by platforms like TikTok.
