Asmara, 14 December 2023 – Eritrean nationals residing in Rome-Italy, Juba-South Sudan, Vienna-Austria, and Geneva-Switzerland conducted various public diplomacy activities.
According to the report, the executive committees of PFDJ, NUEW, NUEYS organizations, the Eritrean community, and media and public diplomacy committees in Italy on 8 and 9 December conducted a six-month activity meeting in Rome and charted out 2024 action plan.
At the meeting in which Ambassador Fessehatsion Pietros and Consul General Mr. Teklesembet Imam attended, executive committees from Rome, Milan, Parma, Verona, Torino, Napoli, Catania, Bari, Pisa, Abruzzi and Brescia presented activity reports.
The participants discussed the reports presented and expressed readiness to enhance their contribution to the success of charted-out resilience and development programs.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Girmai Habtemicael, the Head of Public and Community Affairs, stated that 2023 witnessed strong Eritrean resilience and underlined the significance of enhanced consciousness and commitment in reaching out to the common goal.
Ambassador Fessehatsion Pietros on his part gave a briefing on the objective situation in the homeland and regional developments as well as opportunities and challenges of the prevailing era.

Similarly, Eritrean Ambassador to South Sudan, Mr. Yohannes Teklemicael on 10 December conducted a seminar for nationals residing in Juba.
Ambassador Yohanness explained the diplomatic victories Eritrea registered in 2023 and called on nationals to play a due role to that effect.
Participants on their part expressed readiness to strengthen participation by enhancing organizational capacity.
In related news, the Eritrean community in Austria on 10 December conducted a seminar in Vienna.
The nationals conducted an activity assessment meeting and elected a five-member executive committee for a two-year term.
In the same vein, in a meeting conducted with heads of National Union of Eritrean Women branches on 10 December, the Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Switzerland Mr. Habtom Zerai, commended the role and contribution of the Eritrean women in resilience and development programs called for enhanced participation.
At the seminar in which over 60 heads of the union branches participated, Mr. Tewelde Yohannes, Head of Public and Community Affairs gave a briefing on the objective situation of the organizations, particularly NUEW.
Commending the participation of members in the implementation of the 2023 program, Mr. Tirhas Keleta, Chairwoman of the women’s organization in Austria presented an action plan charted out for 2024.
