Asmara, 03 June 2025 – Nationals residing in Kenya, Finland, and the U.S. cities of Minnesota and Orange County have colorfully celebrated the 34th Independence Day anniversary under the theme “Our Cohesion – Our Armour.”
The celebratory event in Nairobi was attended by Eritrean nationals from various Kenyan cities, Ambassadors and Diplomats, Kenyan Government and UN officials, as well as invited guests.
Mr. Beyene Russom, Eritrea’s Ambassador to Kenya, highlighting the deep meaning of Eritrean independence and the heavy sacrifice paid, expressed appreciation to all who contributed to the colorful event.
The Eritrean community in Finland also celebrated the 34th Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal in Helsinki on 24 May. At the event, which featured cultural and artistic programs, Mr. Robel Aaron, chairman of the Eritrean community, emphasized the heavy sacrifices made for independence and called on nationals to strengthen their organizational capacity and participation in national affairs. He also urged the transfer of noble societal values to future generations.
Likewise, nationals in Minnesota and Orange County in the United States enthusiastically celebrated the 34th Independence Day anniversary with children’s and youth-centered programs. They also expressed their readiness to play their due part in the successful implementation of national development programs.
