Cyber Monday has arrived, so now’s the time to add that splurge purchase to your cart (on sale, of course). One of the best discounts we’re seeing is this Cyber Monday GE Opal Nugget Ice Maker deal. It’s a perennial wish-list item and one of our favorites.
When we tested the best ice makers, we found that the GE Profile Opal 2.0 was one of the few on the market that makes true nugget, or pellet, ice. This 35% discount on Amazon is the lowest price we’ve seen so far for the 2.0 model. Don’t keep ordering mint juleps or going to Sonic just for the ice: let the dream of on-demand nugget ice become a reality.
Nugget ice is small, oblong, and solid. The GE Profile takes 30 minutes to produce ice, which is faster than a traditional freezer. Bullet ice makers are quicker, but that’s because bullet ice is hollow, so it’s easier to produce. With this machine, you’re upgrading the quality of ice and losing a bit of speed.
This machine is bulky, standing almost a foot and a half tall, but it has an intuitive interface and a quiet motor. One water tank is enough for an hour of ice production, which matches up well with the other ice makers on the market.
