The best Cyber Monday PS5 deals include bundles with popular games.
Playstation/Insider
The PlayStation 5 has been around for a few years and yet it still sells for a premium price. But for Cyber Monday 2023, retailers like Best Buy are offering some fantastic PS5 bundles that bring the console’s price — along with some great games — lower than ever. These Cyber Monday PS5 deals even include deals on the new PlayStation 5 Slim, which features more storage packed into a smaller size.
The discounted PS5 bundles all cost $499, and include either a new PS5 Slim or the disk-drive version of the original PS5, along with a digital copy of either “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” or “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” A PS5 is usually $500 on its own, and games typically cost $70, so this Cyber Monday PS5 bundle essentially gives you a game for free and an extra $10 discount.
We’re also seeing deals on PS5 accessories, like $20 off the DualSense controller and big savings on a 4TB SSD. You can save up to 50% on popular games like God of War: Ragnarok.
We expect these deals to last until Cyber Monday ends at midnight tomorrow, November 27. But gaming discounts tend to sell out quickly — a number of games have already gone out of stock — so you’ll want to act fast. PS5 Cyber Monday FAQs
What’s different between the PS5 Slim and the original PS5?
The new PS5 Slim has 30% less volume than the original PS5 design and the internal solid-state drive has been upgraded from 825GB to a full 1TB of storage. The standard PS5 Slim also features a removable 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive.
Sony says the new slim PS5 model will eventually replace the original, but in terms of in-game performance, they’re identical. The PS5 Slim with disc drive typically costs the same as the original PS5 with disc drive at $500; the digital-edition PS5 Slim will cost $450, which is $50 more than the original digital-edition PS5.
Another small difference is that the PS5 Slim doesn’t come with a vertical stand, though it can stand vertically without one. Sony’s included stand for the original PS5 works both vertically and horizontally. A separate slim PS5 vertical stand is available for $30.
How is the PS5 digital edition different from the standard PS5?
The digital-edition PS5 has no disc drive, meaning you’ll need to purchase games digitally from the PlayStation store and download them to play. The original digital-edition PS5 costs $400, so it’s $100 cheaper than PS5 models that include a disc drive.
However, the new digital-edition PS5 Slim allows gamers to purchase a separate disc drive attachment if they decide they want the 4K Blu-ray drive in the future. At $450, this redesigned model will cost slightly more than the original digital-edition PS5. The add-on PS5 4K Blu-ray drive costs $80.
