A new hypercar has seemingly dethroned Bugatti’s record for the fastest production car, and unsurprisingly, it’s an electric vehicle. During a livestream from the Automotive Testing Papenburg site in Germany, the YangWang U9 Extreme hit a top speed of 496.22 km/h (or around 308.33 mph), edging out the previous record holder, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which topped out at 304.77 mph in 2019.
