Awards to outstanding students and teachers

Keren, 13 March 2024 – Lasalle Elementary, Junior, and High School in Keren has honored outstanding students and teachers for their exceptional achievements. A total of 83 students, who excelled in the 2022/2023 national examinations, along with exemplary teachers, were recognized in a ceremony held on March 9.

The event spotlighted 59 students from the 35th round of national service, who achieved GPAs between 3 and 4 in the national school leaving examination. Additionally, 24 eighth-grade students, who scored 90 points or above in their national examination, were also provided awards.

The school took the opportunity to commend teachers for their significant contributions to enhancing the educational process. Mr. Habtom Haile, the school’s director, highlighted the importance of acknowledging the hard work and dedication of both students and teachers and committing to the continuation of such programs systematically.

In conjunction with International Women’s Day, the Anseba Region branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women presented special awards to female students who attained a 4 GPA in the national school leaving examination.

In related developments, Onabur Junior and High School in the Adi-Keih subzone celebrated the achievements of 22 outstanding students from the 2022/2023 academic year in both the school leaving and eighth-grade national examinations. The event, organized by the school’s parent committee and teachers, aimed to motivate students toward greater academic success.

Mr. Leul Mehari, the school’s director, expressed that the awards were designed to encourage awardees to excel in their future academic endeavors and inspire their peers.

Mr. Mebrahtu Tesfom, head of the education office in the sub-zone, underscored the importance of continuing such motivational programs.

The awardees expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that it serves as a significant motivator for their future academic pursuits and a commendable initiative to recognize their hard work.
