Asmara, 26 June 2024 – Nationals in various cities of Italy and the US enthusiastically commemorated Martyrs Day under the theme “Country in Deep Remembrance and Pride.”
The commemorative event took place in 18 Italian cities featuring a candlelight vigil, walkathon, and cultural programs. Participants expressed that Martyrs Day is an occasion on which they renew their pledge to live up to the expectations of the martyrs. During these events, the nationals contributed approximately 43,600 Euros and 50 Pounds to augment the National Trust Fund and pledged an additional 6,440 Euros and 100 Dollars to the same cause.
In related news, nationals in the US cities of Atlanta and its environs, along with Phoenix, commemorated Martyrs Day with patriotic zeal, featuring a candle vigil and various programs portraying the day. The nationals in Atlanta also contributed 31,356 Dollars in support of the families of martyrs.
