RugOne, a specialized subsidiary of rugged device manufacturer Ulefone, has officially introduced the Xsnap 7 Pro at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Setting itself apart from conventional smartphone form factors, the rugged handset features a detachable, magnetic camera module engineered to double as an independent action camera. Weighing just 39 grams, the compact, cube-shaped module captures video at up to 2.7K resolution at 30 frames per second and provides up to 40 minutes of operation on a single charge, supported by 64GB of internal storage.

The detachable camera broadcasts a live preview feed to RugOne’s companion smartphone application at distances of up to 50 meters. Integrated software controls include distortion correction, horizon stabilization, and a versatile Freeframe shooting mode that captures full-sensor area footage for simple post-production cropping into landscape or portrait aspect ratios. The module is natively waterproof down to five meters without additional protective cases and ships with a wearable magnetic pendant alongside universal mount compatibility.
On the phone body itself, secondary optics include a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization and a 64-megapixel infrared night-vision camera equipped with IR LEDs for nocturnal wildlife capture.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor to handle demanding daily applications. The reinforced chassis holds rigorous IP68 and IP69K environmental resistance ratings, guaranteeing water submersion protection down to two meters for 30 minutes alongside 1.5-meter drop resistance onto concrete surfaces.
Teased as a concept prototype at MWC 2026 earlier this year, the Xsnap 7 Pro officially debuts via early-bird preorders on Kickstarter starting September 7 at a discounted price of 799 euros (roughly $930). Full commercial distribution will begin next month through Amazon and RugOne’s online storefront at a standard retail price of $999, with initial colour choices including Sand Dune and Classic Black.
