HostAfrica completes Tanzanian acquisition Zesha

This strategic move strengthens HostAfrica’s service offering and marks the company’s entry into the Tanzanian market. Since its founding in 2016, HostAfrica has established a strong presence in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana. Tanzania becomes the fifth country in HostAfrica’s regional network, representing a key milestone in its mission to support digital entrepreneurship across Africa.

The expansion into Tanzania marks the next step in HostAfrica’s mission to become the continent’s leading web hosting provider and a driving force in AI-first digital innovation. By combining accessible AI-powered tools with high-performance cloud infrastructure, virtual machines and dedicated servers, HostAfrica aims to give African entrepreneurs, businesses and developers the technology they need to build, grow and compete in an increasingly AI-driven world.

AI Toolset rollout to Africa

HostAfrica is also excited to introduce Tanzanian customers to its growing range of AI-powered products and infrastructure management tools. These include new solutions that make it easier for entrepreneurs to build an online presence and allow developers to manage hosting infrastructure using natural-language instructions through AI platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT.

Product features that were recently launched at HostAfrica are:

  • GPUs: Local Nvidia Blackwell GPUs as the first on the continent
  • AI Website builder: Hbuild is the new product for entrepreneurs to start a website in minutes
  • AI One-click templates: VPSs with preinstalled instances of Hermes, N8N or OpenClaw

Michael Osterloh, CEO of HostAfrica, expressed his enthusiasm about welcoming Zesha’s customers and team:

“Tanzania is a thriving economy and has long been part of our growth roadmap. We are delighted to have completed this acquisition and to welcome the talented Zesha team to HostAfrica. This enables us to serve Tanzanian customers locally, delivering world-class hosting services supported by strong local expertise.

“We are also excited to bring some of our latest AI-powered offerings to the Tanzanian market. These technologies are making it easier for entrepreneurs to get online and giving developers simpler, more intuitive ways to manage their infrastructure.”

With all required regulatory approvals now received, HostAfrica has formally taken ownership of Zesha and will begin integrating the company into its wider operations. The acquisition brings HostAfrica another step closer to becoming Africa’s leading locally operated provider of web hosting and domain registration services.
