ASUS launches the dual-screen ROG Zephyrus Duo laptop

The 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo represents a return to ASUS’s more experimental design roots, featuring a massive hardware overhaul that moves away from the smaller secondary displays found in previous iterations. This new model is the world’s first 16-inch dual-screen gaming laptop, utilizing two full-sized 3K HDR OLED touchscreens that offer a combined 21 inches of diagonal screen real estate.

Both panels are DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certified, capable of reaching 1,100 nits of peak HDR brightness while maintaining a 120Hz refresh rate and a 0.2ms response time. While both displays offer premium performance, G-Sync support is reserved exclusively for the primary screen.

The laptop’s versatility is driven by a 5.1mm detachable magnetic Bluetooth keyboard and a unique hinge system that allows for five distinct operation modes. These include a standard Laptop mode, a Dual Screen mode without the keyboard, a Sharing mode that lays the device flat at 180 degrees, a portrait-oriented Book mode, and a hinge-based Tent mode. Despite its thin profile, the keyboard retains 1.7mm of key travel and is paired with an oversized touchpad.

Internally, the Zephyrus Duo is powered by a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 or a flagship RTX 5090 laptop GPU. The high-end RTX 5090 model features a maximum TGP of 135 watts and utilizes NVIDIA’s latest AI and gaming enhancements, such as DLSS 4 and fourth-generation ray-tracing cores. To manage the thermal demands of these components, ASUS redesigned the motherboard to include a larger vapor chamber and dual-fan cooling system.

Encased in a CNC-milled “Stellar Grey” aluminium chassis with a 35-zone “Slash” lighting array, the Zephyrus Duo is now available for pre-order. Pricing starts at $4,500 for the RTX 5070Ti configuration, while the top-tier RTX 5090 version retails for $5,500. Both models are equipped with 32GB of memory and 1TB of PCIe 5.0 storage.
