Perhaps the most exciting addition is Pixelsnap, Google’s new ecosystem of Qi2-compatible chargers that magnetically align to the back of the phone. This technology, which has been notably absent from flagship Android devices, allows for faster wireless charging and paves the way for a new line of snap-on accessories. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is the first phone to support the new Qi2.2 standard, which offers 25W wireless charging, while the standard Pro model is limited to 15W.
The new phones continue Google’s tradition of excellent photography. Both models feature a triple rear camera system with a 50MP wide lens, a 48MP ultrawide with macro focus, and an “upgraded” 48MP 5x telephoto lens. The telephoto lens has the same f/2.8 aperture as the previous generation, so it’s not yet clear what improvements have been made. Both phones also support ProRes for professional video editing.
The 6.3-inch Pixel 10 Pro and 6.8-inch Pixel 10 Pro XL both come with a Super Actua display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The displays are about 10% brighter than the previous generation, with a peak brightness of 3,300 nits and 2,200 nits in HDR.
Both devices are powered by the new Google Tensor G5 chip and come with 16GB of RAM. This new chip enables several on-board AI features, including Magic Cue, which can pull up information like flight details automatically, and Camera Coach, which provides real-time tips to help users take better photos.
The phones also boast their largest batteries yet, offering over 30 hours of battery life, a 25% boost over the Pixel 9 Pro. The Pixel 10 Pro supports 30W fast charging, while the Pro XL supports 45W.
The Pixel 10 Pro starts at $999 for the 128GB model, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL starts at $1,199 for the 256GB model. Both are available for pre-order today and will be in stores on August 28.
